Bayside Exposition
As most of us already know, Umass acquired the former Bayside Exposition Center. I was interested about what the school was planning on doing with this enormous property. On umb.edu I came across the strategic plan for the new property. According to the plan the project is said to be complete in 2017 (hopefully I will be graduated from Umass by then haha).Aside from all of the new architecture, I was especially taken by the objective, which is to continue the relationship with the community. The university does not want to disrupt the neighborhood around the campus. There is also going to be measures taken to maximize the waterfront property. The university wants to improve traffic flow, by making the campus more pedestrian friendly by including walkways and bike paths.
