I have attended Umass Boston for 4 years now (soon to be 4 1/2. During that time I have been the quintessential commuter student. What I mean by this is, I would park my car enter class and exit the campus as soon as classes ended. I was in no way interested in what UMB had to offer other than academics. However, as come upon the conclusion of my Undergraduate education, I am motivated to find out what I have been missing out on.For the remainder of this class I will search campus looking for what I may have overlooked :)
I hope that you will accompany me!
I am really excited because I am the quintessential commuter as well, just I ride the T. I have one year left at UMB and I am excited to learn more about UMB and all that it has to offer.
ReplyDeleteYes! This is amazing. UMass is a really good school, but having been to a university with on-campus housing, fraternities and sororities all over the place, and much more square footage than the tiny landfill UMass stands on, I felt a little disappointed attending at first. I miss that sense of comradery and school spirit.
ReplyDeleteTell us what we're missing!
Speaking of which.. do we even have a mascot? Please don't tell me it's something cliche like a sea bird.
I feel like I probably know a lot more than most students about UMB, having been on student government and involved in all sorts of programs. I'm constantly amazed at how much most of our students miss out on, but I really hope you can show me interesting stuff even I didn't know existed.
ReplyDeleteI really like this blog, as I am not on campus much anymore!! Thanks for keeping me updated!!!!
